October Solitude
One of the things I really enjoy about the desert is the mornings and the evenings. I love to wake up early just before the sun rises make my cup of coffee and enjoy the crisp of the air. As I am sitting in my chair, I see a little sandpiper like bird Chirping looking at me bouncing around. He seemed a little out of place. The sun rise, and the colors in the air are beautiful, oranges, yellows purples, and of course, the green speckled about in the desert.

The desert dawn in autumn’s hand,
Breathes life across this endless land,
A gentle chill, a glowing rise,
The sun’s first warmth, the open skies.
The sand glistens, pale and bright,
The piper hunts in morning light,
While coffee perks, its rich scent near,
A subtle warmth that draws me here.
Perfect, whole, this quiet hour,
With coffee’s steam, the morning’s power,
And in this peace, the world feels right,
Under October’s dawning light.
Here, with warmth and fragrant air,
The desert’s song sings sweet and bare,
And all is well, as shadows lean,
In autumn’s crisp and golden sheen.
